Hello Students!
I'm Will Mittendorf, and I'll be your instructor this semester.
Welcome to the class!
You may be feeling a bit nervous about taking a philosophy class, but, no worries, I'm here to help walk you through the field. Philosophers really do two things: make arguments and clarify concepts.
In this Philosophy of Religion course, we will look at concepts of God, the rationality of religious belief, the problem of evil, feminist critiques, liberation theology, pantheism, Buddhist suffering, secularism, pluralism, and the category of religion itself.
By the end of the course you should have a good grasp on the basics of philosophy in general and be able to discuss and make arguments about various philosophical concepts, especially related to the academic study of religion.
Remember that I'm always here to help. I'm looking forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Will
